Connecting to Viscosity VPN with Windows

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) connects a remote employee securely to the Manhattan College network
These are instructions for using a VPN called Viscosity to connect to the Manhattan College Network.

Setting Up Viscosity

If you do not have Viscosity already running, start Viscosity now. In the Windows version you will see the Viscosity icon appear in the system tray.  Usually down on the bottom right hand corner of your screen (near the clock). Left or right clicking on the icon once will bring up the menu.

Select the Viscosity icon in the menu bar (Windows: system tray) and select Preferences...

This shows you the list of available VPN connections. We assume you recently installed Viscosity, so this list is empty. Click on the '+' button and select 'New Connection':

Configuring the Connection

You will now need to set the connection parameters as outlined below:

  1. Click the Save button to save your changes.
  2. You may now access the Manhattan College network with your Viscosity VPN.
