Steps on how to create a space in G-mail

Environment

Applies to Windows or Mac, Google Chrome, etc.

Steps

 

  1. On your computer open gmail

 

  1. On the left side of your screen there will be an icon called spaces. Click on that Icon

Spaces icon which is three people in a circle with the word Spaces
 

  1. If you do not see the Spaces icon in Gmail, Click the Gear icon. Otherwise skip to step 

Gear

  1. Click "Customize" under "Chat and Meet"

  2. Apps in Gmail. Chat and Meet. Customize.

  3. Select "Google Chat" and click "Done"

Choose which apps to use in Gmail. Checkbox Google Chat. Checkbox Google Meet.

  1. Click + New space

  1. Now that you have created a space. Add a name for your space and a description.

Create a space dialogue box where you type a space name. Optional space description. Then enter the name, email or groups that you would like to add to the group.

  1. Enter the email address of the person or people you want to have a space with. You can also add a group.

 

  1. You can choose whether to have your space restricted to you and the people you selected, or you can choose to have your space public which can be viewed by anyone in Manhattan College. By having your space public anyone in Manhattan college can view or join your space.

Space restrictions are shown. Options are restricted or Manhattan College.

 

  1. Click create
