This article reviews how to create a budget query in Banner Self Service 9.
Environment
Desktop browser and Banner Self Service 9.
Steps
- Click the blue New Query button on the top right.
- You can leave most of the options as is.
- Select the Organization you wish to view.
Hint: (It is recommended that you use Budget Status by Account as it allows you to drill down into each budget line to see details charges to that account including invoice and purchase order information.)
- Scroll down and select correct fiscal year and then click submit.
- The budget query is now displayed. Take note of the Health indicators. Red triangle with an exclamation point indicates that account is over budget. Yellow circle with an exclamation point indicates the account was adjusted. Green circle with a check mark indicate the account was not over and not adjusted.
- You are able to drill down on any of the hyperlinked items.
- The icons on the top right are as follows:
- The pencil icon allows you to modify the existing query.
- The three dots with lines that look like a right arrow are the share icon. This would allow you to share this query with all who have access to this module.
- The disc icon allows you to save this query for quick reference in the future.
- The down arrow with a line is the download icon. This downloads the current query to an Excel file.
- On the saved query page you can favorite a saved query by clicking the star icon.
Hint: (It is recommended that you use Budget Status by Account as it allows you to drill down into each budget line to see details charges to that account including invoice and purchase order information.)
