Issue
You noticed your files are not syncing to One Drive or you just want to make sure they are.
Environment
Microsoft One Drive on a local computer or a Microsoft application (Word, Excel, etc) on a local computer.
Resolution
We will review two ways to ensure your files are syncing. It is recommended that you check both ways.
One Drive Sync
- Click on the One Drive icon. On a Mac it will be at the top right of your menu bar. On a PC it will be at the bottom right of your task bar. The icon looks like a cloud.
- When you click on it you will be able to see the status. If it says, Your files are synced, you should be all set. Otherwise it would ask you to login.
- It is always a good idea to periodically check your files at https://www.office.com/ to ensure that everything is syncing properly.

Microsoft Application
- When working on a file (Word Excel, etc), look at the top left and ensure that AutoSave is on. If it is not, your file is not being synced to One Drive.

Hint: (Ensuring sync is functioning properly is important to ensure that you do not lose your data. It is also important when collaborating with colleagues to make sure changes are not lost.)
