Connecting your computer to the Manhattan College network

Summary

A guide on how to connect your computer to the Manhattan College network

Body

Laptop/Desktop Computer Setup

  • After properly powering on your laptop or desktop computer:
    • If you are using the available wireless connection, make sure that the wireless radio on your laptop/desktop is turned on. If you are using a wireless connection, you should see available connections named "JASPERNET".
    • If you prefer a hard wired connection, plug in one end of the Ethernet cable to one of the Ethernet wall jacks and connect the other end to the Ethernet port on your computer. (Ethernet cables are available at our bookstore).
  • After establishing a network connection (whether wireless or wired), open a web browser and navigate to a webpage, such as youtube.com, to test the connection.
    • Your computer should now be able to connect to our network, either wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable.
