A VPN (Virtual Private Network) connects remote employees securely to the Manhattan College network. These are the instructions for Tunnelblick for Mac OS. Tunnelblick provides free, user-friendly control of OpenVPN client connections for Mac OS. It comes as a ready-to-use application with all necessary binaries and drivers (including OpenVPN). No additional installation is necessary - just add your OpenVPN configuration and encryption information. To use Tunnelblick you need access to a VPN server: your computer is one end of the tunnel and the VPN server is the other end. If you are installing for the first time you must request OpenVPN files from our Systems Group. Once Systems has shared these files with you, you can continue with the following procedure. To find Viscosity, instructions to add VPN to Windows, click: Adding a VPN to Windows 1. Download Tunnelblick 2. Install Tunnelblick by following the on-screen instructions: 3. A new dialogue box appears. Tunnelblick is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it? Click Open. 4. Launch Tunnelblick 5. Tunnelblick must be installed in Applications. Do you wish to launch Tunnelblick now? (An administrator username and password will be required so Tunnelblick can be secured.) Click OK. 6. Follow instructions for Placement of Icon. 7. An installation dialogue appears: Install Tunnelblick? Click Install. 8. A dialogue box appears: Installation succeeded. Tunnelblick was successfully installed. 9. Add a Configuration Click OK 10. Find the Tunnelblick icon in your menu bar (top right). Next to the spotlight.
11. Download the .ovpn file.
12. Choose the .ovpn file from the folder you downloaded it to.
Drag the .ovpn file over to the Tubnnelblick icon (see photo above) and drop it. 13. Click on the Tunnelblick icon to bring down the dropdown menu and you will see the list of our servers. Select the correct server and click connect: 14. To Login to Tunnelblick enter Jaspernet Credentials: Check: the box Save in Keychain and click OK. 15. If connected to OVPN your screen should look like this. 16. To disconnect, click on the Tunnelblick icon in your menu bar and select Disconnect from the drop down menu.
