Banner Browser Compatibility

Banner  allows  access to Banner information across the network using only the following Web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox ESR or Safari.

Select the system listed below to run Banner

NOTE: For Remote users (off campus) see comments posted at the bottom of page:

Chrome browser: as of 9/1/15 Chrome will no longer support Java plugins therefore Chrome users can no longer access Banner. The alternative browsers available to access Banner are Internet Explorer 11, Firefox ESR and Safari.

* Windows 10 users: Do not use IE Edge. Set your default browser to Internet Explorer 11 for Banner. Mozilla Firefox ESR is another alternative,

Mozilla Firefox ESR Requirements

Operating Systems: Windows/Mac OSX


Step 1:  Navigate to

Step: 2: Click on the "Download Mozilla Firefox ESR" button.

Step 3:  Scroll Down the Page to Find the Appropriate Language.  Select the non-64bit Version for Windows.

Step 4:  Download and open the file.  Run the setup on the local machine to install.  Try launching Banner Forms again.

If this does not work, try the 64-bit version or try uninstalling Mozilla Firefox from your computer, then try the Mozilla Firefox ESR download again.

Note: You may have to enable TLS on Internet Explorer (IE) to get Java to work with IE, click here and follow directions to solve this issue.

MAC/OSX: Use the most updated version of either  Mozilla Firefox ESR or Safari.

Please note The first time you run this version you will be prompted to install Java version 8 on your PC. You will see a series of dialog boxes relating to server security certificates. When prompted. check the boxes to "trust this server/application."

Remote Users (off campus):

Remote Windows users will need to install the Viscosity VPN Client. Please review attached KBA on this Adding a VPN Connection to Windows.

Remote Mac users will need to install the Tunnelblick VPN Client. Please review attached KBA on this Adding a VPN to Mac OS using Tunnelblick


Check with ITS to get this VPN installed on your computer. Note that this process may take a few days.
