Troubleshooting Missing Courses in Moodle

Issue

Moodle courses may not be visible on your dashboard for a few reasons:

  1. The instructor has chosen to not use Moodle in their course. If your instructor has chosen to not use Moodle in their course, you will not be able to view the course on Moodle. If they are using their Moodle course, then it may sometimes be found in the Past or Future tabs.
  2. Course may be found in the Past or Future tabs in the drop-down menu.
  3. Course may be found using the drop-down menu underneath "Course overview".

You may also find your course in the second page of the In Progress tab. Often times, past professors will not specify an end date for a Moodle course and it will cause that course to populate your In Progress tab regardless of if it finished or not. As a result, you may have more than six courses in your Moodle Dashboard, which can push current Moodle Courses to the second page.

Checking Course Visibility

1. Log into Moodle and select "Moodle Courses" from the menu at the top of the screen.

2. From there a drop down menu will appear, select the current term

3. You will be brought to a page where you can search for your course. If you the course is visible, it will show up. If you do not see your course you will need to contact your professor and let them know the course is not visible to students in Moodle.
