In very rare cases in which there might be a true and unusual pedagogical reason that a faculty member needs a particular type of laptop (media studies of some type, for example), the custom option may be available. The Custom option allows us to purchase whatever device that you need from an approved vendor. You must provide a quote from an approved vendor when submitting your selection. An approved vendor list is available via the Manhattan College purchasing portal called unimarket. Your department Office Manager can assist with attaining a quote. Quote must be attained prior to submitting form. Extended warranty with accidental damage protection is recommended if selecting this option. At the end of the FLI cycle, if your department pays the balance of the device above the $1,000 provided by the provost the device stays with your department, otherwise it should be returned to ITS. Note that dean approval is required. You must discuss with your dean prior to submitting this form. Remember that this option is rarely approved. Incomplete submissions will be rejected.
