Troubleshooting Avaya Phone Issues Reboot

Issue

Your phone is lighting up but not working. Text is displayed that says anything but extension error. 

Hint: (If your phone says extension error, submit an ITS ticket to get it resolved.)

 

Environment

Avaya Desk Phone

Resolution

  • You should reboot your phone. On some models, you simply need to unplug the ethernet cable located on the back of the phone from the top port as displayed below for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. On some phones, you will need to unplug the ac adapter (round plug) from the back of the phone as displayed below for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. 

  • Note that it can take several minutes for the phone to complete the boot process.
  • If this does not resolve the issue, please submit an ITS ticket.
