Environment

Banner Forms in a desktop browser.

Steps

  • Navigate to Banner Forms as you normally would.
  • Type FOMPROF which is the User Profile Maintenance form.
  • This form defines how the Banner data base user name ties to the Single Sign On (SSO) user name. It also defines the associated Org and what base budget access is available.

  • Search for the user name you wish to work on.
    • The default for employees is firstname_lastname (ex: richard_musal)
    • The default for graduate students is first letter of firstnamelastname_grad (ex: rmusal_grad)
    • The default for undergraduate students is first letter of firstnamelastname_stu (ex: rmusal_stu)
    • Note that there is an argos report to see if there is database user account for the person you are working on and this will be reviewed below.
    • If the person you are working on does not yet have a database user account then then they need to fill out this request form.
  • If you do not know the user name, click on the three dots to the right of the User ID box and you can sift through available user names.
  • Once you have selected the correct user name, click Go.

  • Take note of the following:
    • At the very top you will see the database user name.
    • In the USER PROFILE MAINTENANCE section you will see the associated SSO username. If incorrect, please update.
    • Check the Organization to ensure that is correct, if not, please correct.
    • In the Authorizations section please check Self Service Access to give access to budget via Self Service.
  • Click Save.

  • Now let's review the Argos report that allows you to check if the person has a database account should you need it.
  • Navigate to Argos as you normally would.
  • The report you need will be in the Finance Folder on Argos Production.
  • The report is entitled: "Fund/Organization Security [FOMUSOR/FOMUSFN/FOMPROF]"

  • Using this report you can see who has access to what and if they have a database account.
  • Make sure you are in the "User Access" tab all the way at the top.
  • At the top left you have the following filters:
    • Form Access Groups
      • All
      • Employees Only
      • Non-Employees Only
