About
In this article we will review how to add a meeting type in Microsoft Bookings.
Environment
Microsoft Bookings in a Desktop Browser.
Steps
- Navigate to Microsoft Bookings as you normally would.
- Click + Create meeting type.

- Title your meeting type. In this example I am calling it 1 Hour Meeting.
- If you use categories, you may want to adjust this setting.
- You can change the default message if you like from "Book time to connect with me." to something of your choosing.
- The default meeting location is a Teams meeting, you can adjust this as you like and may want to change the meeting type accordingly.
- You will need to choose your meeting duration.
- Adjust your privacy. Public is the default and best practice.
- You can choose to append this meeting type as an option in your signature.
- While you would typically choose to use your regular hours, you can choose custom hours if you wish.

- If you desire to do so, click into show advanced options.
- You can set buffer time before and after meetings.
- Start time intervals refers to available start times. For example 1 hour intervals would allow start times of 1pm, 2pm, etc.
- Lead time refers to the window where people can book the appointment with you. In this example they have to book the appointment no less than an hour before and no more than 90 days prior.
- You have the option to send a reminder email prior to your appointment.
- You have the option to send an automatic follow up email after the meeting.
