Calendar Sharing in Microsoft Outlook on the Web

In this article we will review how to share your calendar via Outlook on the Web.

Environment

Outlook on the Web in a desktop browser.

Steps

  • Navigate to Outlook on the Web as you normally would.
  • At the top right, click the gear icon.

  • In settings, you should already be in the Calendar menu, if not, select Calendar on the left side menu.
  • In the middle menu, click Shared calendars.
  • On the right side are your calendar sharing options.
  • At the top you can share with a specific person.
Hint: (When sharing with a specific person, you must ensure that person has an Outlook account. Otherwise you should use the publish a calendar option.)
  • Select the calendar you wish to share from the drop down menu.
  • Click Share

  • You will see existing shares below.
  • Select the people you wish to share with.
  • Select the level of access you wish to provide.
  • Click Share.

  • To share with those who do not have an Outlook account, you will need to instead publish your calendar. At the shared calendars screen, scroll to the bottom.
  • Select the calendar and permissions and click Publish.
  • Prior shares will show at the bottom.
  • The HTML link is a web page that can be viewed by anyone with the link.
  • The ICS link is used to import into a different calendar system like Google.
