New Classroom Technology

The majority of Manhattan College’s general classrooms have been upgraded to a new technology standard: desktop computer, wired laptop connections, high definition projector and projection screen, wireless projection from laptops and mobile devices. We have also installed webcams, document cameras, and speakermics in all classrooms to support flexible learning.

Advanced Learning Center

This room is configured with technology to support team-based, collaborative learning. The multiple large displays and ability to wirelessly project content permits individual groups to work on content, which then could be copied to the other displays in the classroom.

Discipline Specific Learning Space

Several departments maintain discipline specific learning space. Some examples include: Bloomberg Room (pictured here), Digital Arts & Humanities, Chemistry and Physics Labs and Language Labs.

Computer Classroom

To support hands-on labs, these classrooms equip each student and faculty member with a desktop computer pre-loaded with academic software. These computers are also equipped with Remotely, a software that allows you to login to the computer through a remote connection.

Computer Lab

Windows computers, loaded with academic software, are available for faculty and student use. These labs are located throughout campus and are actively supported by Client Services. Several entire labs have been added to Remotely, meaning students can access a lab computer from off campus if needed.

Labseat

Have you ever encountered a situation when you needed to use a lab computer, but you arrived and all of the computers were already in use? Looking for a quiet corner to study?

Well, thanks to a web application called LabSeat that has been installed on our lab computers, you can check computer availability in real time before you leave for the lab. This will be especially useful during busier times such as midterms and finals week as you can choose where to study by how many computers are available.
