How to Convert a Microsoft Office File to Google File


This article will explain how to convert a Microsoft Office file (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) into a Google file. 

Hint: (Converting to a Google file is important to take full advantage of the tools in Google's application suite. For example monitoring of activity will not work if the file is not converted.)



Desktop Browser


  1. Navigate to the file that you wish to convert.
  2. Right click the file
  3. Mouse over "Open with"
  4. Click Google Application (Depending on type of file it would be Docs, Sheets or Slides. In this example we used Docs.)
