Getting Started with LanSchool at Manhattan College

About

LanSchool is a feature in computer labs on campus that allows professors to monitor each student's computer screen. It promotes learning by allowing the teacher to show their screen and audio to students, removes distractions and keeps students on task through real-time monitoring, blanking out specific screens in the lab to maintain students' attention, and help students through remote control and chat.

LANSchool is installed in teaching labs.

Getting Started

LanSchool will automatically be enabled for both students' and professors' lab computers. To open the console, select the Show Hidden Icons button in the right side of the task bar. There you will right click on the LanSchool icon and select LanSchool Console.

Once the teacher's console is opened, you will see the screens of each computer that is logged in within the computer lab.

Hint: If you do not want to show the Teacher's Console while presenting to your students, just present using your laptop as normal and only use the desktop PC for the Teacher's Console.
