How to: Change Your Name or Reply-to Email Address in Gmail

Introduction

This article will give you step by step instructions on how to change your name or email in Gmail. So if you were to send an email it will show a different address.

Hint: It is important to note that in order to have the email sent to the new email address the user must own it as a real email account or as an alias. Otherwise you will not be receiving an email.

Simply send an email to ITS@manhattan.edu indicating the exact alias you desire (ex. firstname.lastname@manhattan.edu). We will send your request to the appropriate group for processing, and we will notify you once your alias has been created.
