How to unmute yourself when you are calling into a Google Meets meeting

Summary

This article will show you how to unmute yourself if someone else has muted you while you are calling into a Google meets meeting.

Body

Issue

When you are joining a Google Meets meeting you have the option to call in using your phone instead of joining from the app. If someone in the meeting mutes you, please follow the directions below to un-mute yourself from your phone. Please note that if you using the app you can simply select the "unmute" option.

Hint: Please make sure to mute your line when you are not speaking to avoid echoing.

Environment

Land line or cell phone.

Resolution

If you are muted while calling into a meeting simply, press *6 on your phone and you will hear a message saying that you are no longer muted.

Hint: If you are not within hearing distance you might have missed the message and can try dialing *6 if you are not sure if you are muted.
