What is a Yubikey?
A Yubikey is a Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) hardware authentication device made by Yubico that can be used to support MFA password authentication. It can be added to your Duo account as a secondary device for authentication. It should be noted that it is not necessary but a convenient alternative to using your cell phone.

Where to Purchase A Yubikey:
ITS recommends that you purchase a Yubikey directly from the Yubico Store.
ITS is recommending that you purchase this Security Key via the Yubico store if you have a USB A or this USB C Security Key if you have a laptop with this port instead.
There are other "Series" of Keys you may want to consider that are listed here. The ones that we have linked above are the most commonly used and cost effective.
